Station Introduction

Welcome to all who just arrived at my small piece of the Web.

I am your Yardmaster for this space. I am also the signal master, handyman, author, and only resident of this location, at this time. I am all for travelers, drifters, and settlers stopping by or deciding to stay, this station was opened to the public after all. But, well you see, it’s a rather modest collection of things, at the moment and needs some work to be up to snuff. It’s a new adventure for me that will hopefully one day be worth the work I put into it, if not well I’ve always been a hobbyist and this seems like a good one to pick up.

And I apologize in my excitement to greet you I forgot important details about myself. I am AJ Towns, I use Zi and Zir but am willing to accept She and Her as long as it is not a very dark and stormy day, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I am a young being in my mid-30s, who unfortunately spent my earlier years trying to make my way out of the maze of negative emotions I was born in. There is also the poison stained family heirlooms and multigenerational luggage, which unfortunately I am still storing through to see if anything of value is there. That is what those locked and chained trunks along the outside of the west wall are. I try to keep them out of people’s way but well, there is a lot for just one person to go through alone. Not to worry though they like this place are a constant work in progress and with luck having people to speak with more regularly will help motivate me.

Now on to the tour which I admit will not take long, at the moment. I have many ideas for this currently modest place. Of course, there is no use putting the cart before the horse. So we will start with the current offerings and build from there. For now, we have just a few rooms available to you. There is, of course, the main hub and lobby that you first arrive at I am working on getting it painted and a proper map of this place up. Not that a map is a top priority at the moment but every station no matter its size requires one, it is just polite to have. You have the bulletin board which we are currently reading from now, I figured it would be best to put it in the center of the lobby. It’s a bit well, bland at the moment but as things are added it will become more colorful. For now, I hope to get at least one new post on here a week. I admit though the only thing I can really talk about at this time is myself and my experiences. I’ll try to make it interesting but well… I’m not really sure just what other people find interesting I was always too busy following and discovering things I found interesting. I suppose that will have to do for now until we have some people willing to stick around to assist with that.

Now where was I oh yes, the tour. There are seats available in the main lobby if you want to watch me fix up this place. No need to join in if you don’t want to sometimes watching and being there is more than enough and do not let anybody convince you otherwise. If all you can offer right now is to watch that is fine. I am happy just to not be all alone here, while I can handle being alone I have had to be in that state too much to ever see it as an acceptable way for me to live. Perhaps a dog or cat would make it more bearable but well I’m currently staying with relatives so that is another idea for later. The goal is to use this place as a way to get on my feet after all if I can get this up and running well I should be able to do the same to myself. Now over in that north east corner of the lobby is my office. I am aware the door looks wrong I think I did something backwards or maybe missed a step when I put it up. It needed a door more than it needed to be perfect though so it will do for now. That is unfortunately off limits to all but residents of the station perhaps at some point I can add a receiving window but for now, it’s a locked door to you. If you look to left of the bulletin board you’ll see a set of double doors that lead to a dirt path with some run down buildings. There is a fire pit and small pond at the end of the dirt path which would be perfect for telling stories but, that will still be a while. I just don’t have the extra time to clean them up yet but it’s on the list of ideas.

Most things are on the list of ideas at this time you see. I have one year to make something of this place before the bank takes this little station away from me. If I can buy or get a loan for the land next door I might be able to tie this place into it but that’s a big if at the moment. I’ll try to get some things together to sell I’d love to use some of those buildings down the path but I know better then to to give myself too many projects. For now, I’ll just set a table in the south east corner of the lobby with information on how to find the things I’m selling so check there once it’s set up. Final part of the tour is the currently blocked off corridor in the center of the east wall. Those are other things I need to clean up before I make them available to the public. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting anybody right away I literally was just given the keys today. It is no problem as I said I welcome the company but please be careful of the mess things are right now. I’ll be doing things in pieces and well I’m learning as I go so please try to be patient with me. I apologize for the state of things at the moment but not to worry I’m working on it.

Speaking of working on things. It is now after 6pm I better get to work on figuring out dinner for myself so I don’t forget again. Given the sorry state of things I think it’s best if you leave too at least for the night. If you truly wish to stay I won’t stop you but well I’m done for the night. It’s been a long day and I need to brush up on just what the program that came with this place is capable of.

Catch you on the next spin, AJ Towns
